Before you sail - study the theory; there’s plenty to learn for the budding Day / Coastal Skipper. Five days in the classroom is a challenge at the best of times, but at our shorebased facility in the heart of the Cotswolds off junction 15, M4 you’ll be well looked after.
With no more than 5 students per instructor we’ll take you through the Day Skipper / Coastal Skipper syllabus and ensure you are well prepared for the theory exam. We understand that for some the thought of classrooms and theory is a daunting prospect; fear not, we’ve been there ourselves! You will be well looked after with professional coaching from a fully qualified RYA Yachtmaster Instructor and his team.
Brooklyn House is a large stone residence with 10 double bedrooms available for those who are travelling and wish to stay, private parking is also available. All meals can be provided, just ask and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you. A private bungalow set in the grounds of the house is occasionally available for guests too.

RYA Theory Shorebased Barcelona
We have excellent shorebased facilities at our Barcelona base (Club Nautic Port d'Aro) on the Costa Brava too - wide screen TV for RYA presentations and comfortable seating overlooking the Marina.
The RYA insists on dedicated shorebased facilities for all theory courses. All of our students can make use of these facilities during their stay on the Costa Brava.
