RYA Practical Courses are available all year
RYA Courses start every Sunday at 1700hrs
We offer private tuition for all recognised RYA Practical and Theory Courses taught by recognised RYA instructors and examiners. These courses can be run in conjunction with a charter holiday where not all of your crew are studying for RYA Qualifications.
RYA Competent Crew
This is a basic introductory 5-day course for both the complete beginner and those who may already have some experience of either dinghy sailing or cruising. An ideal way to learn more about sailing in a fun and safe environment. (More information)
RYA Day Skipper
For those who know how to sail. A 5-day practical course enabling you to take command for the first time. You will be taught how to skipper on short passages, involving planning the trip, crew briefing, boat handling, navigation and other sailing skills. (More information)
RYA Day Skipper Combined
A combined practical and theory course run over approximately 10 days and run alongside shorebased courses. The practical element can include an overnight passage to the Balearics (mile-building) and a return passage to our home port. Study and sail has become very popular particularly with those looking for Fast Track Training. RYA Day Skipper Combined Course costs from £965 - £995.
RYA Coastal Skipper
A 5-day course that introduces the more experienced skipper to command a vessel on longer passages by day and night, focussing on passage planning, provisioning and crew welfare. Your theory should be to Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster level. (More information)
Yachtmaster Prep
This course helps to prepare the already experienced skipper for the RYA / DoT Yachtmaster exam. An instructor will coach you in any areas where you feel you may be weak, and you will gain experience and confidence in handling the yacht in the area where you will take your exam. (More information)
Yachtmaster Prep - We also offer one-to-one private tuition on our Beneteau 473 Clipper, you may stay on board or at the Villa - El Mirador.
Own Yacht Tuition - Our instructors can undertake all of the above on your own yacht.
International Certificate of Competence (ICC)
Any British Citizen or British Resident sailing outside of the UK should have an International Certificate of Competence (ICC). More info...
Villa and Sail holidays Costa Brava - Spain
We also offer family sailing aboard our yachts which include one of our skippers sailing with you and showing you our cruise area. A hostess can organise food and beverages along the way, book you into restaurants, collect and deliver your non-sailing family to anchorages along the route. We can teach you to sail and entertain you for as much or little of your sailing holiday as you wish.
Villa and Sail
For those of you whose families do not share your sailing passion we can organise your holiday between our luxury villa and aboard one of our yachts. Spend lazy days looking out to sea by the pool at the villa, and the rest of the time sailing the Costa Brava coastline.
Mile-building
If it's miles you're after then we can build some exciting sailing between our bases at Barcelona-Spain and Gibralta.

RYA Day Skipper Shorebased Theory
An elementary course covering the basics of navigation, pilotage, weather, rules of the road and passage planning.
RYA Day Skipper Combined
A theory and practical course of approx 10 days duration.
RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Shorebased Theory
This is an advanced course for skippers preparing for their Yachtmaster exam.
RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Theory Shorebased
This course covers astro-navigation, meteorology and passage planning.
